Eddie Dekel's research focuses on decision theory, the foundations of game theory, mechanism design (in particular with evidence) and voting theory. In particular he has looked at alternatives to expected utility models, and modeling commitment, flexibility, and knowledge. He is a Fellow of the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, the Econometric Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He has served as president of the Econometric Society, as well as on the executive committee and council of the Econometric Society and the council of the Game Theory Society. He is a past editor of Econometrica, past associate editor of the Journal of Economic Literature, Journal of Economic Theory, Games and Economic Behavior, and a current associate editor of Theoretical Economics.
